NERSAPP Technology proudly announced the launch of its Education Support Grant through the Crunchfundings platform, designed to assist students in tertiary institutions. This initiative aimed to alleviate the financial burden caused by rising school fees and general living expenses, providing much-needed relief to a few deserving Nigerian students.


Program Overview

The first season of the Education Support Grant was open to students from any tertiary institution across Nigeria. Each selected student received Fifty Thousand Naira (₦50,000) in grant money. The application period opened on November 1, 2023, and closed on December 31, 2023.


Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Education Support Grant, applicants had to meet the following criteria:

Must be a student enrolled in any tertiary institution in Nigeria.

Must be a Nigerian citizen.

Must be over 16 years of age.


Funding Criteria

This funding opportunity was exclusively available to applicants with no previous award history. The selection process was thorough, with qualification based solely on the screening conducted by a panel of experts.


Application and Selection Process

Out of 146 applications received, 43 were successfully submitted and reviewed. After a thorough screening process by the panelists, four winners were selected to receive the grant. The announcement was made on 22nd July 2024 through Crunchfundings’ website and social media pages. These winners demonstrated exceptional potential and met all eligibility and funding criteria.


List of Winners

Daniel Akpan – Hailing from Ibiono Ibom LGA, Akwa Ibom state, Daniel is passionate about leadership, volunteering, and social impact. He currently serves as the executive president of the National Association of Akwa Ibom Medical Students, University of Calabar Chapter (NAAKIMS UCC). Daniel is also an avid writer and essayist with many awards to his credit.

Oyewole Peter Kayode – From Kwara state, Oyewole is a 200-level accounting student at the University of Ilorin.

Jimoh Abdulrahaman – Hailing from Adavi LGA, Kogi state, Jimoh is a 300-level chemical engineering student at ATBU Bauchi. He is passionately interested in renewable energy, carbon sequestration, and climate action, and aspires to specialize as an Energy/Environment Engineer after his postgraduate studies.

Adesanya Daniel – From Ijebu-Ode, Ogun state, Adesanya is a petroleum engineering student at the University of Ibadan.
